Privacy Policy
Spy is a party game. It works without accounts and without a server, and RaVo Studios does not collect, sell or share personal data. The free version shows ads served by Google AdMob, and Google collects some data to do that; the "Advertising" section below explains what, and how to limit it.
What the app stores, and where
Everything the app saves stays on your device, in the app's own storage, and is deleted when you delete the app.
- Player names and colours you type for pass-and-play, and the nickname used for nearby games.
- Game settings and statistics (rounds played, scores, awards), which you can reset from Statistics → Reset.
- Faces pack photos. If you choose to build a Faces pack, the photos you pick are cropped and stored only inside the app. The app asks for access to the photo library only when you tap "Add faces" and only reads the photos you select. They are never uploaded anywhere.
- Purchase state for the Agent Pass, provided by Apple's StoreKit. We do not see your payment details.
Nearby play
When you host or join a nearby game, your phone exchanges player names and game state directly with the other phones in the room over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth using Apple's MultipeerConnectivity. Nothing passes through our servers, because we don't have any. Your secret card is sent only to your own phone.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The free version of Spy shows a short ad between some rounds and, if you choose, a rewarded video in the store that unlocks the cosmetic card backs and frames for the rest of the day. Ads are served by Google AdMob, part of Google LLC, using the Google Mobile Ads SDK that is built into the app.
What Google collects to show ads. When an ad is requested, the SDK sends Google your device's advertising identifier (IDFA, only if you allow tracking in the system prompt), the vendor identifier (IDFV), the IP address and a coarse location derived from it, device and app information (model, iOS version, language, app version), ad interaction data (which ads were shown, viewed or tapped), and diagnostic data (crash and performance information). Google uses this to select, serve, measure and limit the frequency of ads, to detect fraud, and, where you have consented, to personalise them. Google's handling of this data is described in its privacy policy, in how Google uses information from apps that use its services, and in AdMob's notes for users.
RaVo Studios never sees this data, does not combine it with anything, and has no account to attach it to.
Your choices.
- Consent form (EEA, UK and some US states). On first launch the app shows Google's consent form where the law requires one. You can change your answer at any time from Settings → Privacy options. Without consent, ads are non-personalised.
- App Tracking Transparency. iOS asks once whether Spy may track you across other apps and websites. If you decline, the SDK does not receive the advertising identifier and ads are non-personalised. You can change this later in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Personalised ads on your device. iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising, and the Google ads settings at adssettings.google.com.
- No ads at all. The Agent Pass, a one-time purchase in the app, removes every ad. The ads SDK is then never started.
The app never shows ads during a round (reveal, discussion, voting, defence or verdict), on other players' phones in nearby games, in Kids mode, or on the Lock Screen.
What we do not do
- No analytics of our own, no account, no email address, no location request and no server. Apart from Google AdMob (above) and Apple's StoreKit, the app uses no third-party services.
- No data is transmitted to RaVo Studios.
Children
The app has a Kids mode with simpler words, and that mode shows no ads. The app is not directed at children and is rated 4+. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children; the Google Mobile Ads SDK is configured for general-audience ad content only.
Permissions the app may ask for
- Local network / Bluetooth: to find friends' phones for nearby play.
- Photo library (selected photos only): to build the Faces pack.
- Live Activities: to show the round timer on the Lock Screen.
- Tracking (App Tracking Transparency): only to let Google AdMob personalise ads. Declining changes nothing in the game.
Each permission can be revoked in iOS Settings; the rest of the game keeps working.
